Website Redesign: Is your Website Smartphone and Tablet ready?
Today’s consumer is no doubt “on the go”. In today’s modern global economy decisions are made in a matter of seconds, not minutes or days any longer. As a small business owner, it is important that you maximize every effort to make your company brand and message available to your target market. This includes mobile users. Here are some facts:
- Over 20% of ALL Google searches are preformed on a mobile device
- In 2012, more than HALF of LOCAL searches were performed on a mobile device
- In the United States, 25% of internet users ONLY access the internet on a mobile device
- 61% of people asked say they have a better opinion of the brands and business when they offer a good mobile experience
- By 2015, consumers will do over 50% of their searches on a mobile device.
These are REAL numbers provided by extensive studies done by Hubspot.com. What this means for your business, if your website is not giving a positive mobile experience, then your business is not seeing its true full potential on the bottom line. To put it as plain as possible. You do not know what your possibly missing by not having a mobile friendly website. Was it that big executive browsing for your widget and just could not easily navigate your site on his device, therefore he backed out, moved on to the next… or was it the family in need of your services but because they could not readily click on a phone number on their device or figure out easily and quickly how to contact you they left and went to the next service provider. You simply do not know what or if you are missing potential new business, new contacts, new revenue for your business.
Having a positive customer experience is a must. According to Google’s Think Insights on mobile, if a user lands on your mobile website and is frustrated or doesn’t see what they are looking for, there’s a 61% chance they will leave immediately and go to another website (most likely a competitor). It’s also said that if they have a positive experience with your mobile website, a user is 67% more likely to buy a product or use a service. I know this is fact because I am someone who heavily browses, shops and interacts with websites on my mobile device. Many a website have lost my revenue simply because I could not easily navigate their website on my device.
The competition to be seen and to stand out is tremendous on the internet for just about every product or service you can think of, including YOURS. You, as a business owner, must take advantage of every opportunity you can to grab and keep your customers. This includes making your services easily available on your customers phones, tablets and other mobile devices.
Having a mobile website is no longer simply a nice feature — rather, it is now a necessity and literally impacts the growth of your business.
